Cementa’s website showcases some of the strong data design possibilities of the Perch content management system we use. The client had migrated from a Wordpress site which really wasn’t appropriate for the long term goals of the site.
With Perch, we were able to create clean data models focused on the important elements to the site structure and publishing goals. In this case tables of artist, event and venue data.
The main issues the new build addressed was in how it managed and filtered views of data. Perch can render a fully abstracted data model which enables very fluid views of tables of data. These three silos of data could then be easily rendered into pages through relational hooks and look-ups.
Content taxonomies with data attributes help organise CMS logic.
Anne Finnegan’s and Alex Wisser’s design brief was to capture the slipping dirty print silkscreen techniques of the 70’s in colour and form. The design concepts were developed by Fiona Hudson, and innovated using CSS rotate techniques and unbalanced and saturated body colours.
